He enjoyed the rural life, raising his bunny "Thumper" and carrier pigeons. He had a daily paper route and was busy in the Boy Scouts. Dave was active in his community coaching little league, Webelos and Boy Scout leader, member of the Rehrersburg Lion's Club, and member of the St. Thomas Church in Bernville. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and photography. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips to Canada and South Dakota.

Dave retired to South Dakota in 2006 but quickly started his business again due to a need for his talents. In 2014, Dave started to spend winters in Arizona. He enjoyed hiking, biking, playing tennis, visiting friends and neighbors, and getting back to his love of painting. He also enjoyed cooking and hosting friends and family.

Dave loved his life in S Dakota. The new friends he met soon became more like family. He always felt so blessed to have been welcomed into the community, homes and the hearts of the S Dakota folks. Bless you all for giving him such joy and happiness.
