They lived in a variety of places including Mobridge, Aberdeen, and McLaughlin where they spent several running a variety store. They later moved to Selby to live in her family home. After the passing of Calvin, she moved the family home to Mobridge and lived there to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Darlene was the shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Darlene's family will remember her weekly visits and her favorite saying, "I bet you are busy, busy, busy." She will also be remembered by many as the local Avon lady. She put on many miles as she walked to her clients houses each week.
