Obituary
Funeral services for Danilo Figuracion, age 67 of Mobridge will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Family Worship Center in Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Danilo passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 near Mobridge. Kesling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Danilo "Dan" Figuracion was born July 30, 1946 at Mexico, Pampanga, Philippines to Dan and Ely (Tizon) Figuracion. He lived in Philippines until 1958; moved to Hawaii with his parents for one year before moving to Lacey, WA. After living in Lacey, WA for a year, the family moved to Seaside, CA where Danny grew up and graduated at Monterey High School. Danny moved to southern California where he met his first wife, Jane and where his first daughter, Stephanie, was born.
In 1973, Danny met his soul mate, RuthAnn Davis. They were married on May 18, 1974 at Palos Verdes, California. After the birth of their two children Erik Tai and Dawn Marie. Dan and RuthAnn moved back to western Washington in 1978 where they resided until Dan's retirement from Food Services of America in 2005.
They found their dream retirement home in the town of Mobridge South Dakota, fishing and hunting paradise. Dan quickly made friends and made a name for himself as an accomplished and knowledgeable outdoorsman. Ever the helpful person and not one to sit idle, Dan started devoting much of his time to his local community. He participated in and volunteered in local fishing tournaments and archery competitions. But his devotion to the community did not stop there. Dan helped local youth at the archery club and of course taught many how to fish. He did whatever he could to ensure their success in hopes of creating new archers and fishermen to share his love for the outdoors. Dan's patience, understanding, respect, and love for his fellow man touched the community deeply and he will forever be missed.
Dan is survived by his wife; RuthAnn Figuracion, of Mobridge, SD, son, Erik Tai and his wife (Randee) of Ft Meade, SD, daughters, Dawn Marie and her husband (Butch) of Tacoma, WA, Stephanie, four grandchildren, Mychal Tai, Danilo James, Savannah Marie, Erik Tai Jr.
father and mother, Dan and Ely Figuracion in Tacoma, WA, brothers and sisters; Ernesto, Lorna, Rowena, Renato, Adora, Noel, Mel, 29 nieces and nephews.
