Daniel Lee Kraft was born on March 22, 1950, in Mobridge to Valentine and Ruth (Holwegner) Kraft. With his father in the construction business Dan moved with his family numerous places in the state. He graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1968. Following high school he attended Mitchell Vo-Tech for a year and finished over correspondence for his second year completing his electrical degree. During that time he worked for the Cenex in McLaughlin. Dan married Janice Wingerter on September 8, 1973, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Selfridge, ND and made their home in McLaughlin where he ran Kraft Electric until the time of his passing. His work was well known and something he took pride in. He was a hardworker and very neat and precise with his electrical work. He could fix anything and was known as a jack of all trades.

Dan had a great sense of humor, loved working on and collecting Mustang cars, enjoyed sitting on his deck visiting with people, doing yardwork and gardening. In his earlier days he dragged race with his brother in their car the Dakota Pony. He loved holidays especially the 4th of July, when he ran a fire works stand with his daughter and father. He enjoyed eating a good meal especially Todd and Jody's homemade pizza in their outdoor pizza oven. Dan was very compassionate and caring towards his family. He helped take care of his son, Brent who had Muscular Dystrophy and he loved his daughter to the moon and back.

Dan is survived by his wife, Janice of McLaughlin, daughter, Jody (Todd) Sahli of Aberdeen, and mother, Ruth Kraft of Piedmont, SD.

He is preceded in death by son, Brent Kraft, father, Valentine Kraft, brother, Jerry Kraft.
