Funeral services for Dale Round Tree, 51, of Wakpala will be at 11 AM CT, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Wakpala. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be on Friday at 7PM at the Wakpala Community Center. Dale passed away Friday, January 5, 2017 at his home.

Dale Lynn Round Tree (TAHCA' Kte') "Deer Slayer" was born on September 12, 1966, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to William Round Tree and Sharon Good House. Dale worked in Rapid City as a roofer, in Minnesota as a plumber, Jensen Rock and Sand as a sandblaster and flagger, and laid the foundations for Bear Soldier Housing. He was also a firefighter. He was an ambitious young man of many trades.

Dale loved watching football and basketball, listening to hip hop music, and breakdancing with Tim Swimmer III and was a very good dancer.

Dale loved wahteca (food). He was loved and will be deeply missed by all his family members and his appreciation of life. Dale was very kind, generous and a respectful person.

Dale is survived by one son, Jonathan Catch the Bear Round Tree, father, William Round Tree I of Milwaukee, WI, mother, Sharon Good House of Wakpala, brothers, Eddy Round Tree and David Round Tree of Wakpala, sister, Rhonda Round Tree of Elgin, OK, aunts, Theo Iron Cloud and Marliss Swimmer of Wakpala. Dale had many nieces, nephews and cousins on the Standing Rock Reservation and from Decatur, IL, and Milwaukee, WI, where uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews are from these areas. His good friend, Winona Medicine of 20 years and stepson, Garrett are also surviving.

Dale is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and numerous aunts and uncles.
