Funeral services for Cynthia Antelope age 55 of Fort Yates will be 11:00 AM CT Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Rock Creek Nutritional Site. Interment will St. John's Episcopal Cemetery under the direction Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25, 2019 beginning at 5:00 PM with a prayer services at 7:00 PM at Kesling Funeral Home. Cynthia passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the IHS Hospital in Fort Yates.
Cynthia Annette Antelope was born on June 24 1964 in Eagle Butte, SD to Benjamin Antelope and Mary Ellen Little Eagle Antelope.
Cynthia was the youngest of 6 children Cynthia started her early education at Eagle Butte, SD and transferred to Ft Yates. Cynthia graduated high school at SRCS in 1982. Cynthia was involved in sports and the Sitting Bull dancing club and attended many powwows Cynthia was interested in furthering her education she attended UTTC Bismarck University of South Dakota, Idaho State and finished with a bachelor degree in business from U of Montana Missoula.
Cynthia was employed at SRST at the time of her passing. Cynthia worked for many different agencies and organizations in Idaho, Colorado and North Dakota.
Along the way she was blessed with 3 sons Anthony Lohnes, James Lohnes and Cody Demery who she loved dearly.
Cynthia was a very kind hearted woman and help anyone who needed help. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cynthia is survived by her 3 sons, Anthony Lohnes, James Lohnes and Cody Demery. Brothers, Benjamin Antelope Jr., Albuquerque, NM, Nathan Antelope and Margaret Antelope Smith, (Wayne Smith) Chubbuck, ID. Nieces, Stephanie & Natalie Smith, nephew, Alex Smith, Grandchildren, Trevyn Shay, Jade Marie Rich & Michael Benjamin Rich.
She is preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Pearman, sisters, Verlys Antelope, Marilyn Antelope, Parents, Benjamin Antelope & Mary Ellen Little Eagle Antelope, Paternal grandparents, Albert Antelope and Bessie Bull Ghost Antelope and maternal grandparents, Alex Littke Eagle and Margaret DeRockbrain Little Eagle.
