Colleen Kay (Norby) Cheskey was born April 23, 1943, in Mobridge, SD to Carl and Marie (Anfinson) Norby. She grew up in Mobridge and graduated from Mobridge High School in 1961. While in high school she was a carhop at Dean's Drive Inn where she met Curtiss (Cud) Cheskey. They were married in August 1961 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. To this union 2 children were born, Carla and Carter. Colleen worked various jobs in Mobridge including secretary for the Mobridge High School. Her most recent job was a waitress at KT's Fireside.

She was very active in the community being a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Women of Trinity, Friends of the Library, bridge club, and was very involved in the selling of daffodils to benefit the American Cancer Society. In the past she was a Jobs Daughter, secretary for the North Central 4H Rodeo and sat on the Sitting Bull Rodeo Queen Committee. Colleen was an avid bridge and pinochle player. You could often see her speeding through town on her pink bike. She loved swimming, walking, playing tennis, playing the bass drum in the adult band, reading, going to coffee at Homespun and spending time and reminiscing with her special friends from high school - theirs was a friendship like no other. She was a very social person and her infectious laugh and quick wit made for some very fun times. Her granddaughters will fondly remember the bike rides, trips to the play park, to the pool, on walks and many card games.

Blessed to have shared her life is her husband of 51 years, Curtiss (Cud) of Mobridge, her daughter Carla (Graling) Carmichael of Rapid City, SD, her son Carter (Kirsten) of Wyomssing Hills, PA., her 5 granddaughters Courtney Carmichael, Chelsey Carmichael, Emma Cheskey, Olivia Cheskey, Julia Cheskey, her father Carl Norby of Mobridge, a sister Sharon (Ron) Frederickson of Milaca, MN, a brother Bruce (Cheryl) Norby of Rapid City, SD and numerous nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Norby.
