Mass of Christian Burial for Clint Gray, age 50, of Aberdeen will be at 10 AM MT Saturday, January 8, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte. Inurnment will be at St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in Promise under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A Rosary service will be at 7 PM MT Friday at the church. Clint passed away January 4, 2011 in Aberdeen.
Clint Gray was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, South Dakota to Richard and Frances Gray on November 23, 1960.
He grew up on a ranch in rural LaPlant, South Dakota and attended school at Cheyenne Eagle Butte, graduating in 1978.
Clint attended college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD with emphasis on drafting and surveying, he then moved to Pierre, SD and worked as a surveyor aide for SD Game, Fish and Parks. He moved back to Aberdeen, and worked for the City Pipe Department. 1984-85 he worked as a Surveying Technician for the BIA where he surveyed and obtained design information for various road projects in the Aberdeen Area.
In 1985, Clint began his career as an Engineering Technician for the Environmental Health and Engineering Program, doing computer aided drafting for numerous water and sewer projects throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. Clint received many outstanding performance awards for the quality and quantity of design drawings he completed for projects to provider water and sewer services to Indian people in the Aberdeen Area. Clint took great pride in the workmanship he put into each set of plans he designed.
Clint is survived by his parents, Richard and Frances Gray of rural Laplant, brothers, Dean Gray of Chicago, Illinois, Clay Gray of rural Laplant, and Dale( Franchon) Gray of Lower Brule, SD.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Pat Gray, maternal grandfather, Irving Marshall, Aunt Opal Heisler and Uncle Beaux Marshall.
