Funeral services for Clement Olson, 98, of Mobridge will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 21, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Selby. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior at the church on Friday. Clement passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Clement Wallace Olson was born on February 8, 1917 to Edward and Carrie (Engebretson) Olson on his grandfather's farm in Campbell County. His elementary education was at the Mark Twain school. He attended State School of Agriculture in Brookings, SD. After graduating Clement worked for area farmers.

He started farming on his own in Campbell County and later in Walworth County. He raised and owned cattle for 60 years.

Clement enjoyed traveling, one of his most interesting travels was when he toured thirteen European countries.

On June 9, 1970 he married Joy L. Hartman. The marriage dissolved in 1980.

On August 11, 1994 he married Emma Mittleider. Together they enjoyed time at the Senior Center with the company of other seniors. Clement took interest in Historical Society. He served on the board as a member of AARP. A life long member of Bethany Lutheran Church. In retirement he was an avid reader and enjoyed going to basketball games. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all his nieces and nephews they brought joy in his life. In September of 2012 Clement was diagnosed with cancer, which he battled courageously.

He is survived by his wife, Emma of Mobridge and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Harvey Olson and two sisters, Elsie Kreb and Delphia Fischer.
