Funeral services for Clayton Arpan age 87 of Ridgeview will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in the Congregational Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to service time at the church on Monday. Clayton passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Clayton was born on January 23, 1928 to Thed and Rose (Woolworth) Arpan at the Cheyenne Agency, SD. He was raised at different BIA locations as his parents worked for the BIA. After graduation from high school he went to the Haskell College to become a electrician. Clayton spent 3 years in the US Army and received an honorable discharge in 1947.

On October 29, 1965 he married Edna A. Lewis, they lived out their married life in Eagle Butte, SD. They were both employees of the BIA. They raised Edna two boys Michael and Terry Lewis they never had any children of their own.

Clayton became a widower on April 8, 2003, after Edna's passing and he never remarried.

He is survived by Kenneth Arpan and Zane Arpan, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and other uncles and aunts.
