Mass of Christian Burial for Clara Herman, 82, of Timber Lake will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 11, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake. Burial will at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Clara passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Clara Ann (Scherr) Herman was born on August 1, 1944, at Mobridge, SD, to Jacob and Margaret (Myers) Scherr. She attended Long Butte School then Holy Cross School until the 8th grade. Clara graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1964.

On December 29, 1965, Clara married Thomas John Herman at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake.

Clara was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was active in the Alter Societies and American Legion Auxiliary.

Clara is survived by her three sons, Thomas and Robert of Timber Lake, and James of Wilmont Care Center, four daughters, Kathy (Kelly) Maag of Watertown, SD, Delores (Chad) Herman of Lakewood, CO, Barbara (Neil) Herman of Bismarck, ND, and Loretta (Bruce) Schmidt of Rapid City, SD, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother, Jack (Judy) Scherr of Rapid City, SD, sister-in-law, Catherine (Dennis) Bresee of Moorhead, MN, brother-in-law, Jay (Audrey) Herman of Green Valley, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents, sisters, Joyce & Alice, brothers, Joe and Irvin Scherr and great grandchild.
