Funeral services for Christopher Ramsey, 37, of Ft. Yates will be 1:00 PM Monday, October 15, 2018 at the AG Agard Building in Fort Yates. Interment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Cannon Ball under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, at the AG Agard Building Christopher passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

Christopher was born April 9, 1981 at Fort Yates, ND to Charles and Carol (Dwarf) Ramsey. He attended grade school thru high school at Fort Yates, and graduated in 2000. He went to United Tribes and played basketball for the Thunderbirds for a time. Christopher went to Army boot camp in March 2005 with one tour of duty in Iraq was with a cannon crewmember, his last duty station was at Fort Bragg, NC.

Christopher enjoyed basketball, running cross country grass dancing. He went to the National Cross Country AAU in 1996 held at Cleveland, OH.

He married Lindsey Johnson and from this union 2 children were born Maya Ramsey and Christopher Ramsey Jr.

Christopher and Cassandra Sand had one child Koltyon Ramsey.

His uncle Richard Ramsey played a large role in his life, he helped raise Chris took him to pow wow's throughout US and Canada attended all his functions, Basketball. Softball, graduations, High School and Military. Gave him his Indian name Wanlbi zi honored him with grass dance specials, as Chris was a amazing dancer. He tried his best to be for him and this is a great loss to him, as he refered to Chris as his son.

Christopher is survived by his mother Carol (Gary) Kidder his father, Charles, his children Amaya Ramsey, Christopher Ramsey, Jr., Koltyon Ramsey, brothers, Marques Ramsey, Seth Ramsey sister, Tiffany Ramsey, uncle Emery Dwarf, aunt, Julie Dwarf, uncle Richard Ramsey (Roberta Ramsey), aunt, Dorla Sadler, first cousin Shane Ramsey, and Joseph Ramsey whom he called brothers and first cousins, Rikki (Ramsey) Himel, Carole Marshell who he called sisters, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandma Barbara Cottonwood, Mary Dwarf, Henrietta Dwarf, uncle Jess Manley, aunt Rosa Wilson, Grandfather, Joseph Ramsey, Grandmother Cecila Ramsey, uncle Stanley Ramsey, uncle William Wilson, aunt Emma Lambert, aunt Imelda King, aunt, Delma Ramsey, uncle Thomas Iron Shield, cousin Jerry Wilson.
