Funeral services for Christopher Grooms, 37, of Billings, MT, will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ft. Yates. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be at 7 PM Tuesday at the AJ Agard Building in Ft. Yates. Christopher passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in Bismarck.

Christopher Ray Grooms was born on July 3rd, 1983, to Marian "Skins" Antelope and Davis Grooms Jr. in Chamberlin, South Dakota. Chris spent his early childhood years in Ft. Yates, ND. At the age of four, he     returned to Lower Brule, SD where he attended school until the age of eighteen.

While growing up in Lower Brule, he loved to fish and hunt, and do anything that was outdoors with his father and special uncle's Truman Grooms and Jay Blount. When he returned to Ft. Yates later, he continued to hunt and fish. In 2001 he met Amanda Fool Bear. Together they had four children, Adriana, Christopher Jr., Aden and Carissa.

Later in life he met the love of his life Caressa Weeks Grooms. The couple were married on February 21, 2014. Together in this union, three children were born, Carmy, Connor and Christian.

During their years together, Christopher worked in the oil fields as well as in the construction field. The family moved to Billings, MT in 2019. Chris loved taxidermy and was very proud of his accomplishments. He loved cooking for his family and spending time with the people he loved. Chris was always laughing and joking with everyone he loved and making them smile. He also had a nick name for everyone. Chris will be missed dearly by all of us who loved him. It will never be good bye, it's see you later. Forever in our hearts. I Love You!

Chris is survived by his wife Caressa, his children, Adrianna, Christopher Jr., Aden, Carissa, Camry, Connor, Christian, father, Davis Grooms,   mother, Marian Antelope, Brothers, Daniel (Mary Allen), Levi Graham,   sisters, Charmayne, Paige (Lance), special aunts, Karen and Valerie       Antelope, special uncle Truman Grooms, special cousins Cherral Wilson and Kennedy Condon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his step mother Ila Crain, brother Tristin Antelope, grandpa Ambrose, grandma Seaphine, Uncle Lyle Antelope, cousins Kyle and Julius Antelope.
