Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Christine Iback, age 91, of Mobridge will be at 10 AM, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A prayer service will be at 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Christine passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Oahe Manor in Gettysburg, SD.

Christine was born on September 21, 1920 to Bernard and Theresa (Hilzendeger) Meier in rural Logan County near Napoleon, ND. She grew up near Napoleon and attended rural school.

She married Joseph Iback on October 13, 1941 in Napoleon and they raised five daughters. They made their home on farms north of Braddock where they farmed until they moved to Mobridge in December of 1949. She worked as a nurses aid at the hospital and waitress at various places. Joseph passed away May 25, 1992 and she remained living in Mobridge. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society, a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, and belonged to the coffee clutch and birthday club groups. Christine loved doing arts and crafts and also baked many wedding cakes.

She is survived by five daughters, Lucille McCullough of Pinedale, WY, Marilyn (Joe) Kormendy of Selby, SD, Ida (Dave) Klein of Mossy Rock, WA, Jo (Bob) Little of Great Falls, MT, Vicki (Jim) Larson of Sheridan, WY; special daughter, Joann Krumm; 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty years, Joseph, one grandson, Christopher Larson, six sisters, Katie, Magie, Molonia, Barbara, Ida, and Anna, and one brother, Ben.
