Obituary

Services are pending for Chevy Duran SeeWalker, 36 of Solen, ND. Chevy died on October 12, 2025 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Arrangements are entrusted to Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD.

Chevy was born May 29, 1989, to Kay Gayton and William Seewalker. Chevy was raised in Ft. Yates, ND and New Town, ND. He then later moved to Sioux City, Iowa; where he spent most of his adulthood, before moving back home.  Chevy was educated in Ft. Yates, New Town and Pierre. He graduated from Denison Job Corps in Iowa with his carpentry certificate.

While Chevy resided in Sioux City, he met Jennifer Gomez. Together they had his first born, Aiyana Yvette Gomez. Shortly after, Chevy met his son's mother Santana Torrez and together they had welcomed Tristan Lalo Torrez into the world.

Chevy cherished the time he had with his kids. He had a tender and nurturing heart for all children. Chevy shared a special bond with one of his nieces he called "Love" aka Abigail. He also enjoyed the little things in life like stargazing or watching the sunrise.

Chevy was the rock and patriarch of his family, providing unwavering support and guidance to everyone. He had a heart of gold with a keen sense of humor. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He could always find humor in any situation and bring a smile to anyone's face. Known for his compassionate nature, Chevy was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. From Jack-Of-All-Trades to a listening ear, Chevy offered his time without hesitation. He had many interests and hobbies but for those of us who knew him well, knew he enjoyed cruising and listening to his music.

Chevy also would often be found working on cars, fixing things around the house or just at home lounging around watching his favorite movies and tv shows. He had an interest in watching paranormal shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Goosebumps and Dead Files. He had all the movie series when he was a little boy. He often watched the news in the early mornings like an elder (haha).

No matter how busy Chevy was, he always made time for his mother, Kay and brother Chez. Chevy and his mom could sit and talk for hours about the man upstairs. Chevy always believed and kept faith in our Lord. He knew we had a providence before us. God showed and proved to Chevy that he is real. He gave Chevy a second chance at life. He gave him 3 years to be with us before taking him home. Our brother, Chevy, is one of a kind.

Chevy enjoyed a good laugh after a long visit and what's more enjoyable than sharing laughs with your brother.

Chevy would make his stops through out Cannon Ball and always ended his day at his special friend Charlie Vivier's house. Chevy and Charlie shared a affinity bond between each other. They became really close friends after meeting each other at Prairie Knights Casino, where they both worked. Chevy was often at Charlie's where they enjoyed each other's company and humor together. They too had been through a lot but managed to rekindle their relationship.

Chevy had two good friends he called brothers: Jason Silk and Jaylen Foolbear. They often would cruise around while listening to music, sharing laughs and cracking jokes. If it wasn't one of them doing something goofy, it was all of them. They had each other's six (back) (in their language)

Chevy liked playing jokes on his sisters, especially he would do the most random things just to make them laugh. Sometimes they would cry or get mad, but it was all fun and games. In his younger years, Chevy would have one of his sisters yelling for their mom and when they would yell, "MOM", Chevy would yell, "What time is it"! Ha ha!

Chez and Chevy shared a close bond growing up together, there was no telling what was going to happen next. They always had a goofy comment to say, even in the most serious of situations. They always enjoyed each other's time together, even if it was only for a few minutes. They have been through a lot together and see a lot. Through good and bad, happy and sad, ups and downs and all arounds, they are each other's brother's keeper and enablers. (LOL)

Chevy had multiple sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, near and far. If you couldn't find Chevy at home, he was likely in Cannon Ball, either cruising the streets or at his grandma's, Toni Plante, giving a helping hand or catching up with his sister, Xenia Ironroad or Aunt Genifer Ironroad. He often stopped in at his bro's, Jason Silk's or at Auntie Debbie Stretches, just to check in on them. He often worried about others and how everyone was doing.

Chevy is survived by his two children, Aiyana Yvette Gomez and Tristan Lalo Torrez, his mother, Kay Gayton, father, William Seewalker, siblings, Elizabeth Gayton, Chesare Gayton, Daira (Oscar) Reyes, Brittney Seewalker Reyes and (Raul) Reyes, Kenna Reyes, Charity Seewalker, Tiffany Seewalker Reyes, Xenia Ironroad, Sherri Harsche, nieces and Nephews, Tyrone Bass, Jarel Bass, Kumari Bass, Dion Bass, Quentin Reynolds, Phoenix, Chesare Jr., Costa Ironroad, Keith Ironroad, Oscar Reyes JRs., Jose Inez Reyes, Kaylee Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Aaron Reyes, Kaylee Reyes. Jesus Reyes, Aason Reyes, Stella Marie Reyes, Jordan Four Killer, Valdemar Grimaldo Jr., Victoria Cortez, Ajani Reyes, Allen Seewalker, Vincencia Seewalker, Ismaelda Reyes, Faith Reyes, Lucy Reyes, aunts, Claudus Kukie Gayton, Deisie (JoJo) Gayton, Ione (Teenie) Gayton, Clara Ramy, Lovene Red Stone, Debbie Standing Bear Stretches, Heather Thomson, Genifer Ironroad, grandmother, Antoinette (Toni) Plante, Rita Loon Twinn.

Chevy was preceded in death by his grandma, Lorraine Little Owl Gayton, Leslie Gayton Sr., Rufus Seewalker, great grandma, Caroline Jordan Loon, Edward Loon, William Gayton, Esther Bullhead Gayton, nephew, Pernell Dean (Tiny) Gayton.

We apologize if we forgot anyone, it was not our intention. Chevy had many devoted friends and a large family. "A momma's love will never die"! Shabeau
