Funeral services for Cheryl Long Feather, 52, of McLaughlin will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Rural Little Eagle. Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 10:00 Pm with a prayer services at 7:00 PM at McLaughlin Blue Gym. Cheryl passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at her home in McLaughlin.

Cheryl Margaret Long Feather was born on December 1. 1964 to Thomas, Sr., & Edith Long Feather at Fort Yates, ND. She attended 1st through 8th grade at Little Eagle Day School. She attended 9th through 12th grade McLaughlin High School graduating in May 1983. She then continued her education at Standing Rock Community College graduating with her AAS in Office Systems in May 1986.

Cheryl worked at numerous places such as an Office Manager for the Bear Soldier Bingo Hall, Finance Clerk for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Finance department, Patient registration Clerk for the Indian Health Service in McLaughlin and her most recent job Judicial Clerk for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Judicial Committee.
She raised her nieces & nephews and was raising her nephew Ronald "Nupa" Jr., and grandsons Taylon & Dorian as her own. She had a special place in her heart for all children and took on the role as a mother to many. She enjoyed baking, long talks, browsing Facebook, and spoiling Nupa & Taylon plus all her grandchildren, nieces and nephews so much that the family she left behind will have a difficult time making up for her.

She is survived by her special friend, Jan Little Bear, mother Edith Long Feather, three sisters Ann (Verdell) Bobtail Bear, Melinda (Bill) Mutchler and Lila (Roman) Silk, four nephews Ronald "Nupa" Long Feather Jr., Sam Long Feather III, Saul Bobtail Bear and Mason Long Feather, nine nieces Kelsey & Ashley Mutchler, Thomasine & Marietta Long Feather, Sierra Bobtail Bear, Laura, Romaira & Romani Silk and Gertie Long Feather.

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Sr., four brothers Tom Jr., Samuel, Ronald Sr., and James William, her paternal grandparents, Sam & Pauline (Taken Alive) Long Feather & Maternal grandparents Amos & Margaret (Iron Cloud) Dogeagle, aunties Lillian Dogeagle, Irene Martinez and Julia Helper, uncles Arnold Dogeagle and Isaac Dogeagle Sr., and her two nieces Sadie Bobtail Bear and Margaret Long Feather.
