Funeral services for Cheri (Gabe) Davidson, age 63, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM MT, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery in Cherry Creek under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family will be meeting at the 4 mile on Tuesday at 4 PM and Services will be at 7 PM at the church. Cheri passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at her home in Eagle Butte.

Cheryl Marie Davidson was born on October 10, 1950 in Ft. Yates, ND, to Rufus Charles Gabe Sr. and Estelle (Mewhirter) Gabe. She grew up in Cherry Creek living with her grandma Margaret Mewhirter. In 1964 she attended boarding school in Idaho where she graduated in 1968. Following school she moved to Faith, SD where she married Lloyd L. Collins on Oct. 12, 1968. To this union one daughter was born, Janell. She moved to Pueblo, CO, where she attended bartending school. After school she moved to Eagle Butte where she met and married James Davidson. While in Eagle Butte she worked various jobs including the American Legion and the 212 club.

Cheri loved collecting trinkets and cat calendars. She was also quite a cook. Cheri had a special love for cats including her special cat "Patches".

Cheri is survived by her daughter, Janell Davidson of Sioux Falls, grandchildren, LeAnn (Arte) Jewett of Eagle Butte, Lea'Shay (Gib) Moran of Sioux Falls, and Damian West of Sioux Falls, great grandchildren, Shai Ann, Isabelle, Piper, Gilbert Jr., two brothers, Sandy Gabe of Ft. Thompson and Kevin Gabe of Eagle Butte, uncle, Chaz Gabe of Minnesota, niece, Tina Thompson Gabe of Bismarck and a special friend Jake Berndt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Rufus Gabe Jr. and Richard Gabe, and grandma, Margaret Mewhirter.
