Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Charles "Chuck" Mardian, 76, of Aberdeen will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 13, 2026, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mobridge. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.  Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday with a Rosary service at 7 PM at the church. Chuck passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the VA Hospice Center in Sioux Falls.

Charles John Mardian was born on August 11, 1949, in Hoven, SD, to John and Hildagard (Goetz) Mardian. He grew up in Mobridge and attended Mobridge High School. On August 17, 1966, he entered into the US Army. He was honorably discharged on May 17, 1969. Upon his discharge he returned back to Mobridge where he owned and operated Bridge City Transportation.

Charles married Shirley Huffman on May 11, 1984, and they moved their family to Aberdeen. While in Aberdeen, he continued operating Bridge City Transportation driving mail, semis, and transporting railroad crews for Burlington Northern.

Charles enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. He was part of the Old Cronies and went on numerous poker runs and charity rides with the group. His nickname was "Bossman" due to him riding Boss Hoss Trikes. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Sheri (Pat) Weisgram, Aberdeen, and their children, Kelsey and Thomas; two sons, Buddy (Amy) Yamaura, Watertown, and their children, Ryann and Payge; Bubba (Amy) Yamaura, Milbank, SD, and their children, Casey and Dani; sister, Linda (Doug) Salverson, Mound City, nephews, John (Karen) Salverson, Brent (Sandy) Salverson, Eric (Tamara) Salverson, Robert (Kari) Salverson, niece, Robin Salverson, and numerous great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley.
