Charles "Ox" Agard was born September 29, 1963 in Fort Yates ND to the late Evelyn and Aljoe Agard.  Charles was also known by Family & Friends as "Ox".

When Charles was just 6 years old he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his leg. He overcame the cancer by the age of 7. He was strong and clumsy like an "Ox" that's how he got the nickname "Ox" which he carried all his life.

Charles attended numerous schools and spent a lot of time with family and friends growing up. He lived with his "Hunka" Family the Whites of White Shield, ND.  Ox played basketball for the White Shield Warriors during his Sophomore and Junior Years. He was a powerhouse in the paint. Charles was rambunctious and little on the wild side, but he earned his GED. His parents were so proud of him.

Charles was a favorite of his Aunt Evelyn Agard Claymore and spent a lot of time at their home.

Charles loved to cook. He claimed his fry bread was the best! He enjoyed playing dice and cards with his family. (always cheating someone out!!) He also enjoyed horseshoes, gambling, board games, and loved playing bingo.

Charles met and married Brenda Red Tomahawk in 1980-83 from that union they had their daughter Ashley Rose Agard. A few years after they separated Charles had his second daughter Britney Demery-Agard.

Papa Ox loved all his grandbabies. Especially Ohiyesa who stuck by his side through thick and thin. Moving to Minnesota in 2009 to be with his daughter and grandson, Charles made a life for himself there. But Standing Rock will always be home to him. He loved coming home to visit his sisters and brothers and families.
