Obituary

Funeral services for Charity Jamerson, 44, of McLaughlin will be at 1 PM, CT, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Messiah Church in Little Eagle. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Charity passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017, at her home.

Charity A Jamerson, was born March 15, 1973 to Everette and Elizabeth (Amidst) Jamerson. Charity was born in Minot, North Dakota at the Air Force Base Hospital. She grew up in Little Eagle, South Dakota where she attended Head Start. Eventually, moving to McLaughlin, South Dakota with her family in 1988. She attended elementary, middle and High School in McLaughlin. Later earning her GED and she attended Sitting Bull College.
Charity took part in cheerleading, track and field, cross country and wood shop; while she attended McLaughlin High School. She was proud to have made a wooden entertainment stand and still has it stored. She enjoyed dancing at pow-wows and in 1988 she held the title "Miss Bear Soldier". She also loved listening to her Reggae and Bob Marley was her favorite artist.
In 1994 she gave birth to her oldest daughter, Kirajo. She resided in McLaughlin where she worked and raised Kirajo. In 2001 she met her special friend, Daniel Hoon and to this union they had two children, Julian and Darira. Charity had the biggest heart and took pride in making the best of what she had. The simplest things she would make into something great. Every holiday and birthday she would always make sure no one was left out and always went the extra mile to make them memorable. Her children, nieces, nephews, and grandkids all meant the world to her. She enjoyed cooking meals and baking her famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for them. She always made sure you never left her house hungry.
There wasn't a job Charity couldn't do. She worked as an ambulance driver for the Standing Rock Ambulance, various positions for construction work, a receptionist for mental health at HIS, and a paraprofessional at McLaughlin Elementary. She always looked forward to the summer and what construction jobs would be around the area. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bear Soldier Headstart while her children attended.

Charity is survived by her children; Kirajo, Julian and Darira. Her siblings: Stefanie (Dave) Jamerson, Lovey Jamerson, Kevin (Tudee) Jamerson, Hope (Larry) Jamerson, Susan (Steve) Defender, special friend Daniel Hoon, Father, Everette Jamerson, Uncles: Joseph Jamerson and Frank Jamerson, Aunt, Arlene Hodgkiss.
Charity is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth (Amidst) Jamerson, Grandparents: Theron and Gall (Brown) Jamerson, Uncles: Kenneth R. Jamerson and James Jamerson.

Casket bearers: Julian Hoon, Ty Running Hawk, Leon Jamerson, Wilbur Makes Him First, Theron Makes Him First, Kevin Jamerson.

Honorary casket bearers: God-daughter, Shary Running Hawk, Nieces: Alicia Village Center, Jenni Makes Him First, Shania Jamerson, Summer, Kadence Waliser, Nephew: Ashton Waliser, Grandchildren: Elizabeth Amidst, Tommi, Kenny and Keenan Makes Him First, Jacari and Ari Sitting Dog, Kasten Running Hawk.
