Funeral services for Chance Rough Surface age 26 of McLaughlin will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM CT at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Kenel. Fr. Ron Garry & Fr. John Lule will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery in Kenel under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. There will be visitation on Tuesday at 5:30 PM and prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM an all night wake will follow at the Blue Gym. Mr. Rough Surface passed away October 3, 2010 at his home in Kenel.
Chance Lamarr Rough Surface was born June 30, 1984 to Robin Rough Surface and Mary Carol Afraid Of Hawk in Fort Yates, ND. He attended school in Fort Yates, Chamberlain, and went on to Box Elder Job Corps. He was a "Jack Of All Trades", working as maintenance, helping with pipeline, and helped build a school and construction in Rapid City. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars with his dad, and talking on the phone with his little girl Alexis. When Chance was younger he danced traditional. The infamous question he always had for his dad was "Why do I have one mud flap, everyone else has two?" Chance always made people laugh, he wanted to be around people and to be involved. He was very well liked and loved by everyone he met. Chance will be missed by all.
