Cecilia passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Cecilia Volk was born November 21st, 1919 to Steve and Anna Volk of Hague, North Dakota. She had one sister and 4 brothers. She attended rural school in North Dakota.

Cecilia Volk married Anton (Tony Volk) on January 13, 1941 they were married in Hague North Dakota.
Following their marriage, they made their home on a farm west of McLaughlin. They farmed and ranched there until they sold it in 1970. In 1971 they moved to McLaughlin.

Cecilia had a very strong Catholic faith, that was seen by all who entered her home. When Father Tony brought communion to her one time she had the candle lit and everything set up and ready for him, and he will never forget she also had her WWE wrestling blaring on the living room television. She loved her wrestling and had a small black and white television on her shelf by the kitchen table and her bigger one in the living room, and on any Monday night when wrestling was on she would have both televisions on and wrestling on both of course different channels so she could watch all the wrestling.
She also loved gardening, planting potatoes and onions, melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, not so much peppers as she didn't have much luck with them. When the seed catalogs started coming in the mail she was like a little kid at Christmas time. She always started her tomatoes, cucumbers, melons from seed. She had the most amazing rows of four o'clock's around her garden so nobody could see what she planted in the middle. She always picked the seeds from the four o'clocks and used them the next year so her colors started mixing and she had all colors of four o'clocks, plain yellow, yellow and pink, yellow and white, red and yellow etc.

In the later years when she planted her garden she made sure she had enough potatoes planted for all the neighbors. Of course they had to come dig them up when they were ready, if she had not already dug them up just to see how big they were getting.
Cecilia will be greatly missed by us all as she left an imprint on everyone's heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Anna Volk, her husband Tony in 1997, and her siblings.

Cecilia leaves behind many nieces and nephews, a sister in law, and her friends and neighbors and her "special little girl " Mackenzie Buechler, and of course Tony's little boy , Zach Buechler.
