Funeral services for Carrie Iron Wing age 60 of White Horse will be at 11 AM, CT, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Whitehorse. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all-night wake will start at 5 PM Monday with services at 7 PM at the church. Carrie passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at IHS Eagle Butte.

Carrie Aileen Iron Wing was born August 22, 1959 at Cheyenne Agency, South Dakota to Gilford and Pearl (Defender) Iron Wing. Carrie was raised in Whitehorse, attending her early years of school in Whitehorse SD.

In August of 1977, Carrie welcomed her first son, Jeffrey. Then in 1985 she met and married Max Goetz where they resided in Spearfish SD. Together they welcomed three children Shantel, Ren and Riley.

After her marriage with Max, she moved back to Whitehorse where she resided until the time of her death. Carrie enjoyed riding horses and fishing in her younger years. She enjoyed all the simple things in life, cooking & baking, walking to get the mail, cleaning her house, gardening, taking care of her flowers and drinking coffee while visiting friends. Carrie loved to spend time with her nieces, nephews and helping them out anyway she could. She liked to be active in her church and volunteer/help anyway she could. Carrie spent the last 12 years with her best friend, Phillip "Junior" Bluecoat in Whitehorse.

Those left to mourn Carrie's passing include her children Jeffrey (Rhonda) Iron Wing of Bismarck, ND, Shantel (Tanner) Goetz of Sherwood Hill, SD, Ren (Jen) Goetz of Mobridge, SD, & Riley (Nicole) Goetz of Mobridge, SD. Grandchildren, Avrey Eileen, Trayden Cash, Traeg Riggen, Avery Lynn, Hayes Macen, & Rori Mae. Also surviving are her siblings, Gilford "Jughead" (Darla) Iron Wing of McLaughlin, SD, Renee Iron Wing of Eagle Butte, SD, & Hazel (Andrew) Traversie of Whitehorse, SD, along with her numerous nieces & nephews and other family members too numerous to list.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, Gilford and Pearl Iron Wing, siblings Robert, Morris, Marlene, Chauncey Iron Wing, Georgianna Claymore & Debbie Ducheneaux.
