Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Bonnie Schaefbauer age 69 of Mobridge will be 10:30 AM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home Mobridge. Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2014 2PM to 4PM at Kesling Funeral Home and start at 6PM at the church with a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Friday. Bonnie passes away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Bonnie Schaefbauer was born April 4, 1944 at Mobridge to Ben and Irene (Lang) Arbach. She grew up in the Herreid area graduating from the Herreid High School in 1962. Upon graduating she moved to Chicago to attend stewardess school. She also worked at a Security System, her next move was to Minneapolis where she was employed as a telephone operator.
Bonnie married Larry Schaefbauer on August 22, 1964 at the Catholic Church. The couple moved to Bath, SD where Larry was a teacher for 3 years. They moved to Estelline where Larry taught school. Bonnie and Larry made their home in Mobridge in 1968. Larry continued his career in teaching and Bonnie worked for the telephone company until it closed in 1982.. She took a couple of years off to spend time with her family. Bonnie then worked for J.C. Penney until they closed in 1993. Bonnie's love for working with the public brought her to work at Dacotah Bank as a teller; She often joked saying she would work there for the bank until they closed. Bonnie retired from Dacotah Bank in 2009.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and taught religious classes. Bonnie was also a member of the Moose, where her and Larry enjoyed spending time with their friends.
Bonnie enjoyed people, and was very social person. She loved attending her coffee groups. Bonnie also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's activities. Upon retiring she looked forward to spending time with her husband and traveling together, but she seldom missed The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Larry of Mobridge, daughter Lisa (Brent) Bainbridge, of Lennox, SD, son Jay Schaefbauer of Mobridge, 4 grandchildren, and brother, Gary Arbach of Washburn, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson.
