Memorial services for Beverly Kay Wittmeier, 66, of Rapid City, South Dakota, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Pollock Lutheran Church. A prayer service will be held at the church on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 7:00 pm. Beverly passed away on September 25, 2026.

Beverly was born to Albert and Shirley Dockter and grew up in Pollock, South Dakota. It was there, at a seventh grade basketball game, that she met Brian Wittmeier. What began all those years ago grew into a marriage of 49 years and a family that became the center of Beverly's life.

Beverly and Brian moved to Rapid City in 1978, where they raised their three children, Gregory, Jeremy and Kristyn. That same year, Beverly began working at the Construction Industry Center. She became Executive Director in 1992 and remained in that role for the rest of her career. She was passionate and tireless in her work and left a lasting impact on the organization and the construction community she served.

As proud as Beverly was of her career, nothing meant more to her than family.

Quiet and private by nature, Beverly was warm, kind, loving and remarkably selfless. She never wanted to inconvenience anyone and was far more comfortable taking care of others than allowing others to take care of her.

She was always there. For nearly 50 years, she was there beside Brian. She was there for her children's games, concerts, school pickups and everything in between. And she was there for her grandchildren, meeting each of them exactly where they were, whether playing dump trucks, going to the circus, reading together, shooting hoops, hiking, or simply watching them do something they loved.

When the family gathered, Beverly was usually the first one awake, making coffee and breakfast and taking care of everyone else. She rarely sat down. There was always something to prepare, something to clean, or someone she wanted to spend time with.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Brian; children Gregory (Kimberly) Wittmeier, Jeremy (Claire) Wittmeier and Kristyn (Gunner) Hanzel; grandchildren Gavin, Peyton, Calvin, Killian and Arden; her mother, Shirley Dockter; sister, Bernice Schmidt; and brother, Dennis Dockter. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Dockter.

Beverly spent her life giving her time, energy and attention to the people she loved.

For Beverly, love was rarely something that needed to be announced. It was something she did, every day, for the people who meant everything to her.

And they always knew it.
