Memorial services for Beverly Goehring, 77, of Herreid will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Herreid Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Herreid under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. There will be a prayer service at 7 PM Friday at the church. Beverly passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the Walworth County Care Center in Selby.
Beverly Jean Berreth was born on November 1, 1943, in Linton to Alex and Amanda (Fuehrer) Berreth. She attended country school near Hague, ND. Her parents moved to Herreid, SD, and graduated from Herreid High School in 1962.
She was baptized in July 1944 and confirmed on March 30, 1958. She was a member of Herreid Congregational Church until it closed in the 1990's. After high school she attended the School of Commerce for 1 year. She then moved back to Herreid and worked as an aide at the Herreid Hospital. On September 2, 1967, she married Lester Goehring at the Herreid Baptist Church. They made their home on a farm near Mound City, SD, until 1972 when they moved to Herreid. Their daughter, Leslie, joined the family in 1975. She worked for her parent's café. Beverly and Lester ran Goehring Oil in Mound City from 1979-1990. She then worked as a waitress and nurse's aide until her retirement.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Lester of Herreid, daughter, Leslie (Jason) Repp and grandchildren, Abby and Alex all of Sioux Falls, three sisters-in-law, Ilse Goehring of Rapid City, SD, Mavis Goehring of Herreid, and Idella Fay of Ashley, ND, and brother-in-law, Arlo Ryckman of Pollock. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, numerous uncles and aunts, sisters and brothers-in-law, and several nephews.
