Obituary

Funeral services for Betty Hieb, 77, of Timber Lake will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the New Hope Church in Timber Lake. Burial will be at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Betty Lou Hieb of Timber Lake, SD passed away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2022.

She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Hieb, her children, Calvin, Allen, Roger Hieb and fiancé, Andra, six grandchildren, Jace, Terrel and fiancé, Abby, Tobie and fiancé, Kylie, Summer, Augustina, Danika and two great grandchildren, Brylee and Bryson. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Elsie Njos, Donna Tichi, Janice Davidson, and Jim Young.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Lou, brothers, Louis Whittlinger, sister, Connie Tichi, mother, Frieda Young, step father, Warren Young, father, Percy Whittlinger.

Betty loved her family dearly and enjoyed the family gatherings to catch up with the extended family. She loved her "Norman" and always had meals prepared on time and even lay his towels and clothes for him. Jace and Betty always had a special bond, and no one knew her better.

Betty loved taking care of her very special friends hunting cabin, Brent and Melony Mareska. Betty loved hunting season where all of her boys and grandchildren would come to gather and share stories. Betty would always make the "new comers" feel welcome and invite them back the next year. She was also known to ask the hunters "did you catch any deer today."

Betty Hieb will never be forgotten and always be remembered for her thoughtful calls checking in and to tell you that she loved you.
