Bernadine Oka
Memorial service for Bernadine Oka 56 of Wakpala, will be 10:00 AM CT, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Wakpala Community Center. Interment will be in the St. Elizabeth Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. All night wake will Wednesday June 25, 2014 at the Wakpala Community Center beginning at 5PM. June passed away June 20, 2014 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital in Mobridge.
Bernadine Estelle Oka was born November 29, 1957 in Fort Yates, ND to Bernard and Amanda (Little Moon) Oka. She graduated from Smee High School in Wakpala and attended Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates, ND. Bernadine resided in Fargo, ND and recently moved back to Wakpala, SD. Bernadine enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, word finds and the Casino.
Bernadine is survived by her sons, Marlon Oka, Ronald Curley, daughters, Brittany Oka, D'Anne Hix, Kelsey Oka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Oka, Amanda (Little Moon) Oka, Verdell Oka, Ronald Oka, Myron Oka, Marlys Oka, Glennis Oka, Jeris Oka, Bernell Oka, Glenn Oka.
