Bernadine Makes Him First "Happy", 89, of Whitehorse passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Avantara Nursing Home in Rapid City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM (CT) at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Whitehorse. An all night wake will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 beginning at 5:00 pm (CT) with a prayer service at 7:00 PM (CT). Interment will take place at Emmanuel Episcopal Cemetery, Whitehorse, under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Bernadine Makes Him First Norman was born on November 1, 1933 in Whitehorse, SD to Thomas and Jennie Makes Him First. She had 3 sisters and one brother, Julia Traversie and two daughters and three sons, all deceased; Marcella Makes Him First Swan, and one daughter and 2 sons, deceased; Theresa End of Horn Swan, still living; Rhonda Blue Coat, deceased and two daughters, still living. She is survived by her one son, Rex who was born on October 3, 1951. She lived many years in Chicago, IL.
