Funeral services for Benjamin Miller, age 86, of Mobridge will be at 12 Noon CT, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Burial will be at St. Bede's Catholic Cemetery in Wakpala. Benjamin passed away, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Benjamin Leroy Miller was born July 24, 1925 at Fort Yates, North Dakota to Merritt R. Miller and Louise Gertrude Duncan. Benjamin (Benny) grew up around the Fort Yates, North Dakota¸ Wakpala, South Dakota. Benny was a cowboy, he believed in being able to pick up in a moment's notice and move. Benny was a cowboy from the first time he ever got on a horse he loved the nomadic life that he led as a kid. Benny traveled all over the United States during his life. Benny was in the U.S. Navy when he was seventeen years old. Benny was proud that he was a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, he spoke the Lakota Language fluently and would speak it to his grandchildren when they came to visit him. Benny was proud of his culture and traditional ways. Benny loved to read Louis L'Amour books, he kept a large collection with him at the Golden Living Center. He liked the cowboy lifestyle. Benny always spoke his mind about things. He cherished his mother dearly and loved his brother and sister. Benny loved his grandchildren and was always teasing with them. Benny had a teasing way about him and he would love to tease the staff at the Golden Living Center where he lived. Benny has nine children, Patricia Ann Miller, Suzanne Rae Miller, Ronald Keith Meeter, Cheryl Miller-Hernandez, Merrie Miller-White Bull, Delores (Geni) Miller-Aguilar, Terrence Wade Miller, Michael Left Hand, Bonita Marie Miller-Grahm. Two special hunka children Cher Miller and Chance Miller. Benny's Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Benny had many step-sons and step-daughters that he called his and never forgot about them.

Cheryl Miller-Hernandez Children-Gene Allen (Jaime) Miller his children are: Chance, Seth, Josiah, Destiny, Hope, Ariel, and Angelina Miller. Jeremia (Tammy) Miller his children are: Triston Miller. Jim (Carissa) Miller his children are Tylie and Kendall Miller. Jeff (Amy) Miller and his children are Wednesday and Rolan Miller. Jezarae Miller and her significant other Boyd and her son Darien. June Miller (Andy) Jasi and their daughter Alyssa. Living at home with Cheryl are Cheyenne and Lakota Swick. Merrie Miller-White Bull Children-Oryn White Bull, Keith White Bull, and Rebecca White Bull. Delores (Geni) Miller-Aguilar Children-Katanna Spotted Bear Miller, Kai Spotted Bear Miller. Bonita Maria Miller-Graham Children-Benny and Librado Jr. Graham.

Benny was preceded in death by his father, Merritt R. Miller, his mother Louisa Gertrude Duncan, one sister¸ Helen Marcella Hanley-Smith, one brother¸ Wilmer Joseph Hanley¸ and two sons, Ronald Keith Meeter, and Terrance Wade Miller.
