Funeral services for Basil Two Bears age 63 of Cannon Ball, ND will be at 11 AM CT, Monday May 1, 2017 at St. James Episcopal Church in Cannonball. Burial will be at 3 PM, Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake services will start at 7 PM Sunday at the church. Basil passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Garrison Memorial Hospital in Garrison, ND.

Basil Daniel Two Bears was born on March 28, 1954 to Laura White Eagle an Albert Two Bears in fort Yates, North Dakota. He was raised in Cannonball, North Dakota and attended school in Solen, North Dakota and graduated in 1972. Basil enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years for his country from 1972 to 1974 and was honorably discharged. In 1980 he attended school at United Tribes Technical School in Bismarck, North Dakota where he attended a Carpentry degree. Basil had various jobs with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Prairie Knights Casino and also as a ranch hand.

Basil was a very quiet and humble man. His Indian name is (Ishta Maza). He liked spending his time at the country ranch helping his mother with her gardening before she passed on. He also helped the family with the farm work. Basil loved to fish and look for turnips that he braided as a hobby. He would pick berries and wild tea also in the summer time. He loved to walk and enjoyed the outdoors.
Basil met Carole One Horn and they united in marriage in 1987. To this union they adopted one daughter Rose. She was born in 1980. Basil has three children; Dusty Two Bears, Ishta Maza Two Bears and Felicia Rose Two Bears.

He is survived by his wife Carole Two Bears of Cannonball, ND, his three children; dusty Two Bears, Ishta Maza two Bears of Bismarck, ND, and rose Two Bears of Cannonball, ND. His sisters; Alberta (roger) Condon of Fort Yates, ND, Gloria (Tom) Fischer of Cannonball, ND. His brothers; Albert (Sharon) Two Bears of Cannonball, ND and tony (Lois) Two Bears of Cannonball, ND. Brother in Laws; Kevin One Horn, Joe Two Bears, his special cousin, Victoria Ireland, that he would always have morning coffee with and visit daily, nieces: Cheryl (Neil) Standish, Shaun One Horn, Alecia Two Bears, Mary Condon, Valeen One Horn, Faye Tikayne, Allison Two Bears, Carol Two Bears, Jackie Two Bears, Thecia Two Bears, Margaret Two Bears, Erica Conica, Christina Red Water, nephews: James White, Girard Glaser, Tom Fischer Jr., Terry Jo Fischer, Richard Two Bears, Kevin White, Richard White, Bill Condon, Travis Condon, Bernard Lawrence Jr., Kevin One Horn Jr., Lucas One Horn Jr., Alex One Horn, Eric Conica, grandchildren: whom he was very proud of, Kaleciah One Horn, Latrice Two Bears, Ayden Himes, Lil Boss Pierston Tikayne, Jaxton Tikayne, Basil was especially proud of bull rider Jesse White.

Basil was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Laura, brothers, Bernard and Charles, sister, Irene, grandparents, Basil and Annie (Alkire) Two Bears, Richard and Margaret (Jordan) White Eagle. Basil (ISHTA) has a huge Tiospaye (Family) with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, too numerous to mention, if we forgot anyone please accept our apology, we didn't mean to.
