Barbara Claire (Gerstman) Moser was born to Frank and Lois (Berberich) Gerstman in Redwood Falls, MN on October 7, 1951. At the age of 3, Barb and the family moved to Mobridge, SD. She was educated in the Mobridge school district and graduated from MHS in 1969. She then attended and graduated from Patricia Stevens School of Fashion Merchandising in the Minneapolis, MN area.
Barb was an avid seamstress which was learned and put to good use when the family purchased Fashion Fabrics in Mobridge, SD in 1967-68. With time away at College to learn the merchandizing field to aid in the operating of the family business, she then took over management of the store. They owned and operated the store for several years. Her love of sewing was shown in many directions for family, friends or anyone in need of a repair or a project to challenge her. Barb continued her love as a seamstress until she was no longer able to sew.
On June 4, 1977 Barb married Harley Moser in Mobridge, SD. They had two children together, Justin (1980) and Molly (1985). Living in Mobridge and employed with Citizens Bank until moving to their family farm north of Selby. Barb then worked as an aide at the Selby Area school, at the Connection call center in Mobridge, SD, and as a cafeteria assistant in Selby, SD. Barb most recently worked at the Golden Living Center where her love and compassion for others touched many a life, from residents to co-workers. She always put others first and was willing to lend a hand in whatever was necessary.
Barb enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and canning. Barb also loved following her children's sports and other activities. She never missed any of their events and traveled with them to professional sporting events in the past years. One moment she would be making the family a home-style meal and the next she would be assisting in the delivery a new born calf. There's nothing she wouldn't do to help out.
Barb was always known to carry a constant smile on her face and go out of her way to help others. Her smile and consideration for others will carry on through her family and friends. Up until her passing she was always the first to say please, thank you, and I Love You. The lives she touched will always be blessed by her kindness and love.
