Funeral services for Arlouene Rossow, 81, of Herreid will be at 2 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Herreid Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be at 6 PM Friday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Mrs. Rossow passed away Wednesday at the Selby Good Samaritan Center.

Arlouene Mae (Deibert) Rossow was born September 6, 1934, in Campbell County, Gale Community, to Alvena (Gatzke) and Emanuel Deibert. She attended grade school in Gale Community and graduated from Herreid High School.

On July 22, 1951, Arlouene married Jerome Rossow at the Herreid Evangelical United Brethren Church. They raised their family on their farm south of Herreid. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, sewing, and playing the piano.

Arlouene was active in the Assembly of God Church serving as a pianist and Sunday School teacher. She was also active in the Women's Ministries.

Along with Jerome, for five years they cared for foster children. Their home was often the hub for family gatherings where Arlouene cooked up delicious meals and goodies for all who came. She loved her family, children and music.

Arlouene is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Jerome; four children, Gary (Sharon) of Rapid City, Roberta (Loren) Kambestad of Rapid City, Joyce (Keith) Singer, of Elwood, IN, Tim (Shari) of Herreid; eight grandchildren, Shari Maturano, Matthew Metz, Nathan Metz, Jonathan Metz, Lora Kambestad, Marshall Kambestad, Amanda Rossow and Charlie Rossow and five great grandchildren, Hendrix Metz, Jameson Metz, Landon Metz, Hudson Metz, Gracie Metz and Dante Maturano. Arlouene is also survived by her siblings, Lorraine Venhuizen of Rapid City, Wilmer (Bernice) Deibert of Ipswich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Erwin, one daughter-in-law, Sandy Rossow, one son-in-law, Larry Metz, two brother-in-laws, Tony Venhuizen and Orval Rossow and one sister-in law, Marie Rossow.
