Funeral service for Arlene Moser, age 73, of Mobridge will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 21, 2014 at Family Worship Center. Burial will be at 3PM in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Thursday starting at 5PM with a prayer service at 7PM at the church. Arlene passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.
Arlene Margaret was born May 3, 1940 to Ed and Dorothy (Dora) (Hellhake) Litzau at McLaughlin. She attended school and graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1958.
Arlene married Clarence Moser of Walker on Nov. 2, 1958 and started their life together on the farm.
Arlene enjoyed embroidery and made several baby quilts for her grandchildren. She was also an excellent seamstress and sewed many of her own clothes and for her daughters.
She was a member of the McIntosh First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the ladies aide group, and sang in the choir.
Arlene enjoyed having visits and having coffee with her friends and children. Tea-time with her grandchildren was a hi-light when they visited. She loved the Lord and studied her Bible often, One of her favorite Bible verses was Proverb 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
In October 1994 they bought a home in Mobridge and moved off the farm due to medical reasons. In Feb. 1998 she entered the Selby Good Samaritan Center. After being admitted to the Mobridge Hospital in Sept. 2012 due to health reasons, she transferred to Mobridge Golden Living Center. She passed away March 16th of renal failure due to M.S. complications which she battled for 47 years of her life.
Arlene is survived by her husband Clarence, daughters, Cathy (Jack) Getz of Bismarck, Cari (Royce) Walker of McLaughlin, 4 grandchildren, Tyler Getz (fiance Evelyn)of Sterling, CO, Becky Getz special friend (Jared) of Bismarck, ND, Brittni (Matt) Dobowey of Max, ND, Rason (Annie) Walker of Mobridge, and 3 great-granddaughters, Sophie, Laken and Ava.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
All memorials will be donated to the MS Society.
