Funeral services for Arleigh "JoJo" Bowker, age 49, of Azle, TX is 10 AM, MT Friday June, 15, 2012 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte, SD. Burial will be at the Dupree Family Cemetery in rural Cherry Creek, SD under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. "JoJo" passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 from complications associated with diabetes.

"JoJo" Arleigh Burke Bowker was born January 3rd, 1963 to Coquelle and Rechinda (Cook) Bowker in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from high school in 1981 at Azle High School in Texas. He was a proud member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Nation and he attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas from 1991-1995 where he studied art. He founded the original Art Club and the Renegade Art Warriors while in college. JoJo was involved in many clubs and extra-curricular activities while in school.

His art was displayed in multiple Lawrence locations where many of his friends still reside. JoJo was quick with a joke and until the end. His concern was always for his friends and family members. He was an avid NASCAR fan and in particular he enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt. His hobbies included playing the guitar, collecting NASCAR collectables, and of course creating art. JoJo never met a stranger and his laugh was endearing and unforgettable to anyone who met him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his companion Jodi Owings and nephews, Ryan Matthew Zapata and Sebastian Bowker, uncle Hank Bowker, two aunts Donna Clausen and Gloria Two Crow and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother "Coco" Coquelle, Jr, grandfather Wilson Cook, Grandmother Mazie (Blue Eyes) In The Woods, grandmother Gatsey Bowker, and grandfather Henry Bowker.
