Ardeth Bender went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 26, 2014.  She passed away quietly at the NHC Nursing Home in Lewisburg, TN. Funeral services for Ardeth will be held at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge, SD on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 10:00am with Rev. Gary Street officiating.

Ardeth was born November 26, 1927 to Clifford and Opal Chesmore in Mobridge, SD. She married Donald James Bender on April 25, 1945.  To this marriage was born 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter.

Ardeth and Don ranched most of their lives west of Mobridge and Ardeth owned and operated the Fashion Fabrics Store in Mobridge for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mobridge, SD and later the East Commerce Baptist Church in Lewisburg, TN.  She served in various capacities at both churches.

Her husband, Donald passed away on December 31, 1993.  In 1994 Ardeth moved to Lewisburg, TN to be close to her daughter Susan.  She had resided there for the last 20 years.

Ardeth is survived by her sons Donald Wayne (Vickie) Bender of Fairburn, SD, Roger James Bender of Lewisburg, TN and Terry Neal Bender of Lake Park, GA.  Also surviving are four grandsons; Randal Bender and Ryan (Susan) Bender of Aberdeen, SD, Terry (Andrea) Bender, Jr. of Saint Augustine, FL and Dane Finnesand of Rapid City, SD, four granddaughters; Merri Jo Boothe of Hermosa, SD, Melinda Bender of Cincinnati, OH, Lacey Shiver of Lake Park, GA and Ashlee Cook of Fairburn, SD, 6 great granddaughters and 1 great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, all her siblings, her husband Donald James Bender, her daughter Susan Bender Ogle and son-in-law Ron Ogle.

Burial will be beside her husband in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, SD.
