Memorial services for Anthony Martin, 51, of Kenel, will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Kesling Funeral Chapel in Mobridge. Burial will be in the St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Cemetery in Wakpala under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Anthony entered the spirit world on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Anthony Raymond Martin Jr., Mato Itan "bear watches over people" was born September 30, 1973, to Antoinette Ruth Summers and Anthony Tony Martin Sr., in Kenel, South Dakota. Anthony grew up in Kenel and Minneapolis, but he always came back to Kenel. He loved playing basketball and joking with family. Anthony graduated from Kicking Horse Job Corps in Ronan, Montana specializing in carpentry.  He worked for years as a roofer and ranch hand, he had numerous friends and relatives, he was a strong believer in family and home.

Anthony is survived by sisters, Samantha Summers, Stephanie Picotte, Chelsea Picotte, brothers, Troy Martin, Andrew Martin, Randall Howard, Milton Howard, Gary Holliday, Gabe Martin, aunt Bena Martin, numerous nephews, relatives and close friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Martin Sr. and Antoinette Summers, sisters, Amanda Martin, Amber Martin, brothers, Joseph Martin and grandparents, Theresa Martin, Rose Mae Sac, Gabriel Martin, Wilma Little Bear and Melvin Little Bear.
