Graveside services for Anthony W. Marshall "Uncle Tone", 76, of Eagle Butte will be at 11 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Eagle Butte Cemetery. Anthony passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte. 

Anthony (Tony) W. Marshall was born June 20, 1950, at the old Cheyenne Agency to Irving and Ruby (Garreau) Marshall, he was the 9th of the 13 children.

He grew up in Promise area and the family later moved to Glad Valley in 1959.

He attended school in White Horse, Eagle Butte and later obtained his GED while at the Indian Police Academy in Roswell, New Mexico.

He worked in various places including the Sale Barn, 212 Liquor Store, UPS, BIA Roads Department and retired after 20 plus years as a Bus Driver at Tiospaye Topa in Laplant. Tony was always willing to help at the school wherever there was a need. He wasn’t afraid to treat his bus kids like they were his own, if they needed a word of advice, encouragement or even an occasional attitude adjustment.

Tony helped his brother Gib with his ranch doing various jobs such as haying, hauling cattle, branding and repairing equipment. They were always together, so someone labeled them the brothers in Secondhand Lions, and they are once again reunited.

Tony enjoyed traveling to his local sporting events, supporting the C-EB Braves, and the Tiospaye Topa Thunder Hawks. He enjoyed visiting family and friends and would often make his way around town gathering “news” to share with his sister when he stopped by for coffee.

He is survived by his Siblings: Frances Gray, Tom Marshall, Mary Marshall, Nita Pearman and Tudee Rousseau. Children: Gary (Janice) Marshall, Ashley Elk Nation, Derek Marshall, Charlie Marhsall. Grandchildren Ethan, Bethany, Ezekiel, Shayden, Levi, Marty, Brileigh, Kevin, Derek Jr., Warren, Bitsy, Tyus, Keya and Melanie. Great Grandchildren Sophia and Asher, and all his nieces and nephews too numerous to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving Ruby, and Siblings: Caroline, Opal, Beaux, Spider, Sandy, and Gib.
