Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Labusewycz, 89 of Timber Lake will be 10 AM Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Timber Lake. Burial will be in the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home. Anna passed away, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Anna was born in Poland on May 10, 1922, she was the youngest of 6 children; 2 brothers, and 3 sisters growing up on a farm. During World War II Anna met Michael Labusewycz in a prison camp in Ludwigsburg, Germany, she was taken from her home to work in a factory and Mike was in the Polish Calvary. They were married in 1944 and in 1949 Anna and Mike came to the United States. They settled in the Firesteel area and later moved to Timber Lake.

Anna enjoyed working with her flowers and in her garden. She also enjoyed making quilts and crocheting dollies, slippers and dish cloths for her family and friends.
Anna will be remembered for her smile.

Anna is survived by two daughters; Irene (Garland) Martin of Waco, TX, Gloria (Harvey) Reiss of Mason City, IA, one son, Bernie (Jaynie) Labusewycz of Victorville, CA, grandson, Kevin Reiss, granddaughter, Sandy (Randy) Aase, great-grandsons Parker, Hudson and Miles Aase.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents and husband Michael.
