IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anita
Harrison
April 28, 1967 – October 13, 2025
Funeral services for Anita Harrison, 58, of Merrillan, WI, and formerly of Mobridge will be at 2 PM, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Anita passed away Monday, October 13, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI.
Born on April 28, 1967, in Mobridge, South Dakota, Anita was raised on a farm south of Mobridge. She attended grade school in Trail City and Mobridge and later completed high school in both Mobridge and Gillette, Wyoming. Her passion for music led her to study at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Anita devoted much of her life to music, teaching piano lessons and sharing her talents through singing and playing the piano. Her home was often filled with music that brought joy and inspiration to those around her. She also had an affinity for butterflies.
Marking an early chapter of Anita's life, she married her first husband, Todd Jilek. She later married Kurt Turner, with whom she lovingly raised their three children: Eric (Ahlia) Turner, Alexis (Michael) Angelo, and Ashley (Ethan) Giegling. She also cherished her role as grandmother to Ellie and Harrison Turner and Jude and Owen Giegling and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of another Giegling grandson.
Later in life, Anita married Tim Rimer in Florida. There, she pursued her passion for cosmetology and she also owned a property appraising business, embracing both creativity and professionalism.
Anita is remembered by her mother, Darlene Harrison; her brother, John (Brenda) Harrison; and her sister, Michele (Darrell Schlepp) Harrison. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Harrison; paternal grandparents EE and Effie Harrison; and maternal grandparents Paul and Hope Chamberlin.
Her loyal dog Barley was a constant companion who brought her comfort and joy.
Anita's legacy endures through the music she shared and the love she gave. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
