Andrew Voller was born on February 10, 1936, in Strasburg, ND, to Anton and Ottilia Voller. He was the youngest of nine children and grew up on the family farm east of Strasburg. He attended rural schools near his home and graduated from Strasburg High School in 1953. After high school Andy taught in a rural school and worked as a painter and then at Yeagan's Dairy in Bismarck before serving in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957. He was stationed on the USS Cook APD based in San Diego, CA, transporting underwater demolition teams and sonar gear.

After his discharge he moved to the Firesteel, SD, area and worked with several of his brothers and sisters on their farms. In December of 1961 he married Violet Heinrich from Isabel and they purchased the Firesteel Store which they operated until February of 1967 when they purchased the farm that they still own southwest of Timber Lake.
During the first two years they owned the store, Andy and Violet lived in the back of the store which is where they were living when their first child, Alan, was born. Shortly thereafter they moved to a small house in Firesteel and a daughter, Brenda, joined the family. Several years later twins, Carmen and Carolyn, were born.
Andy took great pride in his farm and his family and lived on the farm until his declining health forced him and Violet to move to Mobridge in October of 2009.

Andy is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Violet, son Alan (Karen) Voller of Bison, SD, daughters Brenda Voller, and Carmen (Doug) O'Neill of Alexandria, SD, and Carolyn (Neal) DeRaad of Bereford, SD, grandchildren Victoria, Gregory and Veronica Voller, Riley and Keely O'Neill, and Morgan DeRaad, step-grandchildren Brandi (Bryan) Schave, Donny O'Neill, and Max DeRaad, and step-greatgrandchildren Logan and Addison Schave, brothers Anton 'Tony' and William 'Willie' (Alvina) Voller, and brother-in-law Edward Hager all of Mobridge, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Ottilia Voller, sisters, Bertha Voller, Helen Hulm, Margaret Baumgartner, and Hilda Hager, brothers, Arthur and Joseph Voller, niece Eileen Baumgartner Bosch, and nephew and godson Jerome 'Jerry' Hager.
