Obituary

Funeral services for Alvina Klein, age 93 of Herreid will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2012 at Assembly of God Church in Herreid with Rev. Don Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be Sunday, starting at 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at the church. Alvina passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Selby, SD.

Alvina (Eberhart) Klein was born in McPherson County on April 7, 1919 to Adam and Caroline (Oberlander) Eberhart. She attended McPherson Country School. Alvina married Harold Klein on September 9, 1939, from this union seven children were born. Harold passed away June 6, 1959.

Alvina enjoyed reading her German Bible and journaling everyday, she never complained about anything. She was a great cook and always made her children and grandchildren favorite dishes. She would do quilting, embroidery and made many things for her children and grandchildren. Alvina enjoyed cleaning the church, gardening and clean pheasants. She had loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Herreid and the ladies aid.

Alvina is survived by her daughters; Donna Schick (Elmer) of Herreid, SD and Sharon Clinton (Donald) of Denver, CO., sons; Roland Klein (Cecelia) of Sioux Falls, SD, Lyle Klein (Linda) of Sioux Center, IA, Larry Klein of Lake Isabella, CA and Harlan Klein of Herreid, SD. 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, brother, Milton Eberhart of Colorado Springs, CO.,2 sisters, Viola Middlestead, of Ellendale, ND, Lorraine Darling, Rapid City, SD

Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, son Gordon, 1 grandson, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
