Graveside services for Allen White Temple, 81, of Ft. Yates will be 3:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a prayer service to follow at Kesling Funeral Home. Allan passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.
Allen Vine White Temple, Sr. was born to Gilbert and Marie (Antelope) White Temple on January 19, 1937 at Bullhead, South Dakota. He spent most of his childhood days at his parents' cattle and horse ranch near Bullhead, SD.
Allen attended Bullhead Day School, Freshman year at Fort Yates High School and later graduated from McIntosh Public High School in 1956. He also graduated from Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD, majoring in Business Economics and Sociology in 1961. He continued his education by attending the College of Business Administration completing a Management Development course at the University of New Mexico in 1965.
Allen was first employed as an Accountant, Loan Assistant and a Credit Officer for the Department of Credit and Financing for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He was also the Acting Social Services Officer, a Trust Account Technician and the Acting Agency Superintendent on many occasions throughout his working career. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1998.
On December 23, 1982 Allen and Geraldine Looking Elk were united in marriage.
Allen was in the Army and stationed at the Eighth Infantry Headquarters in Badcrusnach, Germany. There he worked with the Personnel Management Department.
Allen went home on April 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Allen Jr., his sisters, Eunice and Virginia and his brother, Emmett Sr., two grandchildren Nicolette and Jennifer. He is survived by nephews, Albert, Emmett Jr., Sam, Loren and nieces, Leslie, Judith, Rosa, Mary, Althea, Melissa and 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
