Funeral services for Allen Little Eagle Sr., 58, of Bullhead, SD, are 11AM, Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Rock Creek School Gym in Bullhead. Burial at St. John's Episcopal Cemetery of Bullhead under the direction of the Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. All-night wake begins at 5PM, with a prayer service at 7PM, Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the gym. Allen passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Allen was born in Rock Creek, SD, on October 14, 1957, to Harry Little Eagle and Lucille (Red Bear) Little Eagle. Allen attended and graduated from Flandreau Indian Boarding School and participated in the Upward Bound Summer Youth Program at Black Hills State College during the summer of 1977. He played for the undefeated Flandreau Indians Football team. The team remained undefeated until the championships. He was very proud to be a football player.
He attended the youth Adult Conservation Corps (YACC) in Mobridge, SD, in 1978. This is where he met Carleen White Eagle and they were married on November 21, 1979, by judge Standing Crow in Fort Yates, ND. He attended Welding School in Mitchell, SD, in 1980.
He worked as a security guard at Grand River Casino, City of Grand Forks, ND. Also, he served as the local district chairman, policy council for head start and numerous other programs he volunteered for in his free time.
He was currently the chairman at the Boys and Girls Club in McLaughlin, SD. He was very proactive, volunteering, fundraising and he loved all the children that he worked with. He was always looking out for the children, doing activities and serving meals. He was constantly fundraising and looking for resources to help maintain and to sustain the overall operation of the Boys and Girls Club.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Carleen (White Eagle) Little Eagle. They have been faithfully married for 37 years. His precious children, first-born son, Allen Little Eagle Jr., Alex Little Eagle, Leslie Little Eagle, and his beautiful daughters, Alexio Little Eagle and Lucille (Little Eagle) Black Wolf. His beautiful and innocent grandchildren, Harley Rough Surface, Xander Man Archambault, Kelvin Long Elk, Sunshine White, Kennedy little Eagle, Nyssia, Charlie and Ma'lanya Little Eagle, Carleah Archambault and Averi Black Wolf and two special grandsons, Jaunte Bagola and Brayden White Eagle, his brothers, Gaylen Little Eagle Sr, Harry Little Eagle Jr, Cowboy James Little Eagle, his sisters, Velma Little Eagle, Beverly Little Eagle, and Gina Hernes, and all of the nephews, nieces and grandchildren of his brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alec "Charlie Chan" Little Eagle, and beautiful grand daughter Ava Joy Black Wolf, his sisters, Virginia Little Eagle, Rita Little Eagle, Patricia Little Eagle and Margaret Little Eagle, parents, Harry Little Eagle Sr. and Lucille (Red Bear) Little Eagle, brothers, Gerald Little Eagle and Theodore Little Eagle, maternal grandparents, Alex Little Eagle and Margaret (DeRockBraine) Little Eagle, mother-in-law, Victoria Desersa, brother-in-law, Carl White Eagle, Zane White Eagle, Vince White Eagle and one sister-in-law, Francine White Eagle, grandparents, Sam Cadotte and Jennie Red Bear, Uncles, Jerald Brown Sr., Richard Brown Sr., Patrick (Cedar Boy) Brown and Francis Brown, and all the rest of the relatives of the Wambli Tiospaye.
