Obituary

Funeral Services for Alan David Red Fox Jr., age 35 of Eagle Butte will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Interment will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge family and friends are asked to meet at 4-mile junction at 4:00 PM to preceded to the church. All night wake will be Thursday, August 31, 2017 starting at 5:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Alan passed on Sunday, August 27, 2017at RidgeView, SD

"J's" Parents - Mother Ardys and the late Lenny Cook, Father Alan Red Fox Sr, and Terry Anderson. Grandparents: The late Art Moran, Joyce Hill, Delphine and the late Steve Red Fox.
"J"s children –Jay'Ellen Rain, Kay'leigh Sue, Taison Russel (Mary Curley). Aj Robert, A'len Blaze (Shayne Rousseau)
"J's" Brothers: Carlyle (Cree) Red Fox, Rardy (Kaitlyn) Cook, Gib Moran, and Trevino Brings Plenty, Sisters: Randee (Michael) Red Fox , Kim (Jay) Shepherd, and A'Layna (Elijah) Morrison.

"J" attended elementary and high school at Cheyenne Eagle Butte, college at Lawrence, KS. He was employed at Ted's Service in Ridgeview, SD he had several jobs along the way of his life at Law Enforcement, Head Start, Highway Improvement Construction, Welding Inc. He was a jack of all trades and met a lot of good friends. He grew up being a hard core KU Jayhawks and Green Bay Packer fan. He was proud to be the Great-grandson of a Green Bay Packer player Ambrose Dog Eagle. He enjoyed riding horses, welding, sharing good times with all his sisters and brothers/cousins, he also shared his live with many, many friends.
"J" grew up in Eagle Butte, Bear Creek, and LaPlante, SD – he enjoyed working cattle and horses, But most of all he loved being with his Grandpa Darrel Straight Head who shared all his heart of being a Lakota Cowboy and ways of keeping humble and kind. "J" also shared his life with his good friend Skyler and had a love of being with mama Jean and Floyd Hill's Family. "J" loved All his Lala's and Unci's, All Aunties and Uncles.
Our Alan had a heart of gold, he gave his all and then some…his charming sweet smile and gentle hugs will be missed.

"J" preceded in death from the Tiospaye of the Brave Thunder, Dog Eagle, Moran, Cook, Red Fox, Dupree, Dupris, Circle Eagle, Halfred, Straight Head, Anderson, Roberts, Jandreau
