Major applied to both Santa Fe Art School & the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the summer of 2005 and was accepted. This is where he met the mother of his children, Chasity Ginnis. In February 2006 Major and Chasity were married at the Eagleshield family church Messiah in Little Eagle. Their first child, his only son, Dezmond Carl, was born that following July of 2009. Major then moved his family to Fairbanks, Alaska to be closer to Chasity's family. There his two daughters were born Briana Lily Rose was born in July of 2009 and his namesake, Adriana Bernice who shares a birthday and carries her Auntie Toni's middle name Bernice, April 5th, 2012. His children were his pride and joy. Major worked for the company North Slope and would be gone 2 to 3 weeks at a time. On his days off he would make sure his family was taken care of and cherished every memory made with his them.
Major returned home in 2014 and began working various labor jobs. He enjoyed working at The Boy's & Girl's club with his sister Toni. He was also a handyman for anyone who needed help. He also made the Presidents List for the Fall 2018 semester and received an award for being a Standing Rock Scholar for 2019.
Major's passion was always art. He was proud to teach his cousin Dom different techniques & they would spend countless hours drawing beautiful native artwork. One of his art pieces is the decals that are displayed on his brother BJ's vehicle windows. Major was a huge part of his sibling's children's lives was better known as "Uncle Maj". Another family favorite was gathering to go fishing at the Grand River & to be out at Mortenson's Crossing. He always looked forward to the Eagleshield Family Breakfast which is held during Little Eagle Celebration at the end of July where he commanded the cutting of the watermelons. Every August he looked forward to the trip to Sturgis for the Bike Rally. During their last trip he told BJ he wanted to walk Bear Butte, but his health wouldn't allow it, but they visited, took pictures and said prayers.
