Memorial services for Adolph Mastel, age 76, of Trail City will be at 4 PM CT, Friday, May 14, 2010 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Adolph passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 in McLaughlin.
Adolph E. Mastel was born on June 25, 1933 in on a farm outside of Trail City to Peter J. and Frances (Silbernagel) Mastel. He grew up in the Trail City area and attended school there. Adolph lived all over the country and worked various jobs before moving back to Trail City where he has since resided.
Adolph loved being on the farm and living in the country. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, telling stories, and socializing with everyone he ran into. He also enjoyed going to the McLaughlin Senior Citizens Center. In 1996 he met Alvina Tscherney and they forged a very special friendship until the time of his passing.
He is survived by his daughters, Lois Mastel of Polo, SD, Pearl Mastel of Huron, SD, Francis (Jim) Boyd of Arlington, and Kim Mastel of Minnesota; sons, Clark (Kelly) Mastel of Ortonville, MN, Mark Mastel of Hoven, SD and Gene; a special friend Alvina Tscherney of McLaughlin, grandchildren, Mike Mastel, Christina (Justin) Workmeister, Jessica Mastel, Cole Mastel, Danielle Mastel, Trent Voges Mastel, and Kim Mastel; great grandchildren, James Workmeister, Travis Workmeister, Gabriel Voges, Candace Mastel and Corey Mastel; brother, John Mastel of Aston, MN; sisters, Ilene Tetu of St. Paul, MN, Alvina Pheneger of Roseville, MN, Helen Rengel of Little Canada, MN, Mary Anne Schmidt of Mesa, AZ, and Barbara Aras of Hudson, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents and uncle and aunt, George and Rose Mastel.
