Memorial services for Adeline Stadel, 96, of Mobridge will be at 11 AM, Saturday June 19, 2021, at the Kesling Funeral Home. Adeline passed away November 22, 2020 in Redfield.
Graveside services for Adeline Stadel, age 96, of Mobridge, will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 30, 2020, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bowdle. Celebration of Life Services will be at a later date. Adeline passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Avantara Nursing Home in Redfield, SD. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD, is in charge of arrangements.
Adeline Stadel (Sandmeier) was born August 18, 1924 to Elizabeth (Voegele) and Joseph Sandmeier at her family homestead six miles northwest of Bowdle. She attended Southwest Modena Lake School No. 8. Adeline was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobridge. She married Victor Herbert Stadel on June 15, 1948. They lived on the family farm north of Java and later moved to Mobridge where Adeline worked cleaning houses. Adeline began working at the Mobridge Nursing Home where she was employed for 19 years, serving as the head of the housekeeping department before retiring in June of 1987. She married Alvin Lafferty in 1973. She liked playing cards, visiting and doing embroidery work.
She is survived by her son, Aaron (Grace) Stadel, one sister, Emma Olson and two grandchildren: Nathan and Michelle Stadel.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1957 and her mother in 1985, her husband Victor in 1978 and husband Alvin, four bothers – Adolph, Rueben, Ray and Art Sandmeier and one sister – Edna Huft.
