Theresa Ducheneaux

Funeral services for Theresa Ducheneaux, age 23, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM MT, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the HV Johnston Cultural Center in Eagle Butte. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery in Blackfoot under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will begin at the Cultural Center Friday at 5 PM with services at 7 PM. Tess passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 near Eagle Butte.

Theresa Francis "Tess" Ducheneaux was born March 28, 1989 to Boyd and Shireen Ducheneaux in Gainsville, FL. Tess started out her rodeo career when she was only 4 years old. From a young age Tess loved horses and running barrels. By the age of 10 Tess was the Junior World Barrel Racing Champion, she went on to have a great and successful rodeo career.

In 2008 Tess welcomed her first child, a son named Thadd, her whole life changed and she became a great mother. A few years later Tess and Thadd moved to Aberdeen, SD where she found a great job with the Indian Health Services and welcomed her daughter Eden into the world.

After two years in Aberdeen, Tess moved to Eagle Butte where she continued to work for the Indian Health Services where she made many new friends. Tess was so full of life and always had a big smile on her face she had many many wonderful dreams for her and her children. Tess has touched so many people's lives while she was here, she will be greatly missed by so many relatives and friends.

Tess is survived by her children Thadd and Eden, father Boyd, mother Shireen, brother Zane, sister Stephanie Connolly, grandmothers Theresa R. Ducheneaux and Frankie Connolly.

She is preceded in death by her great grandparents Lloyd and Helen LeBeau, grandfather Toby Ducheneaux, uncle Hugh, and cousins Charlie Ducheneaux and Travis Peters.
